Total maternity pay

How is it calculated?

The daily rate is your average gross salary in the 3 months before you stopped working, divided by 90 — or the last 6 months divided by 180, whichever gives more. The rate is capped at 1,752.33 ₪ per day as of 1.1.2026. How long you are paid depends on your insurance record: 10 insured months out of the last 14 gives 15 weeks (105 days); 6 out of 14 gives 8 weeks (56 days).

Example: with an average gross salary of 12,000 ₪ per month, three months of pay total 36,000 ₪, and the daily rate is 36,000 ÷ 90 = 400 ₪. With full entitlement of 15 weeks, the total is 105 × 400 = 42,000 ₪. Figures are per Bituach Leumi, updated for 2026.
