Using monthly compound growth, updated for 2026: starting with 100,000 ₪ and depositing 5,000 ₪ every month at an assumed 7% annual return, savings cross 1,000,000 ₪ in about 9.5 years (114 months); this is an illustration only — past returns do not guarantee future returns.

The month you become a millionaire

How is it calculated?

The calculator starts from your current savings and runs the balance month by month: each month the balance is multiplied by (1 + annual return divided by 12) and the monthly deposit is added. It counts the months until the balance crosses 1,000,000 ₪, then translates that into a calendar month and year — the date you are, on paper, a millionaire.

In the example: 100,000 ₪ to start, 5,000 ₪ per month and a 7% annual return (about 0.58% per month) — the million is crossed after 114 months, roughly 9.5 years. A larger deposit or a higher return brings the date closer. The return you enter is an assumption for illustration only: past returns do not guarantee future returns.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to save 1 million shekels?

There is no single number — it depends on your starting amount, monthly deposit and return. For example: 100,000 ₪ to start with a 5,000 ₪ monthly deposit at a 7% annual return crosses 1,000,000 ₪ in about 9.5 years (114 months).

How does compound interest shorten the road to a million?

Gains are added to the principal, and the next month they earn returns too. The calculator divides the annual return by 12 and applies it each month to the entire balance, including previous gains. At 7% a year that is about 0.58% per month on a balance that keeps growing.

Is the millionaire date the calculator shows guaranteed?

No. The result is a mathematical illustration based on the return you entered, not a forecast. Past returns do not guarantee future returns, and actual returns change from year to year — even the 7% in the example is only an assumption.
