Monthly child allowance

How is it calculated?

The allowance is set by each child's position in the family: 173 ₪ per month for the 1st child, 219 ₪ each for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and 173 ₪ for each child from the 5th on. The amounts for all children under 18 add up to one monthly payment, made by Bituach Leumi on the 20th of each month. In addition, and separately from the allowance, Bituach Leumi deposits 58 ₪ per month per child into the Savings for Every Child program.

Example: a family with 3 children receives 173 + 219 + 219 = 611 ₪ per month, which is 7,332 ₪ per year. Families receiving income support (havtachat hachnasa) or alimony payments get a 113 ₪ supplement for the 3rd and 4th child only. A parent can choose to double the savings deposit to 116 ₪, with the extra 58 ₪ taken out of the allowance. Figures are per Bituach Leumi, as of 1.1.2026.
